Esra NEWS Agency: Dr. Morteza Saqaiannejad, the mayor of Qom, Tuesday, 29th of Farwardin, 1402, met and talked with Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli at his house.
In this meeting, Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli praised and thanked the efforts of the Qom municipality and said, " even though very good works have been done in the municipality, these meetings are for repairing the deficiencies. may Allah accept these positive works from you and all your colleagues."
He continued, "The main problem is that sometimes we talk about a city, but we think personally. That’s why in some cases the private sector is ahead of the public sector. It's not because the owners of private sectors studied more or made more effort, but his view is different. He knows that he should do good work as long as he is alive."
He stated, "Municipal employees should also think like this, that as long as we live, we should think of the city and not for ourselves. So, if this is the case, when people come to us, they will not delay them for their own plans, and they will not postpone the work for tomorrow. So, if someone has the opportunity and he can do people's work, he must get job done, otherwise he has acted selfishly!"
He said, "We should not think we are doing the work for the government, but we should believe that we are alive, we should prepare something for hereafter by helping people and not delaying their work."
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli said, "I wish we hold the Quran over our head every night, the teachings of the Holy Quran are alive. the divine teachings tell us, if you want to be human, if you want to grow, you must think globally, we live in a village. We are related to people and you should ask Allah for the good for everyone."
He continued, " the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) told us if someone waters a thirsty tree, it is as if he watered a thirsty believer. Isn't this religion loveable?! These teachings existed in our worldview before international law come to existence, and we must know them and act on them."
In another part of his speech, he expressed, "There are two types of poverty, economic poverty and natural poverty; Natural poverty cannot be prevented. natural poverty is not a shame; But economic poverty is a shame, and therefore we must move in the direction of vanishing poverty; not that there is no poor. as Amirul Momineen Ali (peace be upon him) said, «لو تَمثّل لِی الفقر رجلاً لَقَتلتُهُ»If I see poverty, I will behead poverty! I did not come to help the poor; I came to prevent poverty! Our main task is to prevent poverty."
