The website of Isra foundation: The Regional Information Center for Science and Technology (RICeST) hosted the first international conference on “Intellectual Property Rights in Modern Sciences and Technologies” on Wednesday, December 2nd.
The event was attended by professors, researchers, and guests from Iran and Iraq. During this event, a recorded video message by Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli was broadcast. Expressing his appreciation for the efforts of the organizers researchers involved in the event, his eminence described the issue of intellectual property as an important matter, deeply related to the epistemic foundations of the humanity and the world. Presenting an ontological perspective regarding this issue, Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli referred to the world as a “divinely-created library”, stating that only through understanding oneself, the society, and the universe can one comprehend the legal and existential significance of different phenomena. In another part of his message, referring to the teachings of the Quran, his eminence stated that knowledge of God is the basis for a correct understanding of the human being and the cosmos, and emphasized the fact that any society that is not acquainted with this essential knowledge will be incapable of making proper use of science, technology, and knowledge.
