Esra News Agency: During his pilgrimage to the sacred shrines, Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli delivered a speech in a grand ceremony held near the holy shrine of Hazrat Abul-Fazl Al-Abbass on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in the holy city of Karbala, addressing the officials and servants of the holy shrine of His Holiness Abul-Fazl Al-Abbass (peace be upon him).

His speech is as follows:

I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

"Absolute praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and blessings be upon all the prophets and messengers and the guiding Imams, the Mahdis, and Fatimah al-Zahra. We take them as our guardians and we disassociate ourselves from their enemies before Allah."

We honor you, scholars and esteemed servants of the Al-Abbasss’s Holy Shrine!

We hope that the comprehensive scientific and practical report presented by this esteemed individual will be accepted by the Lord in terms of divine proximity and will be effective in the Islamic and human community in terms of education and propagation!

We hope that the future will be accepted by the Lord better than the past!

The focus of the discussion here is on who is everlasting and what is everlasting (one) and what is the secret and mystery of permanence and fame (two).

The Almighty God, who is eternal in the past and everlasting in the future, and whose totality of eternity and infinity is referred to as Sarmad (timeless, eternal), the Absolute Everlasting. From this Absolute Everlasting God, revelation was sent down, prophethood was established, guardianship was introduced, and Imamate was designated, with the highest and most exalted book being the Holy Quran.

God, who is the Absolute Speaker (the source of all speech and knowledge), and the creative writer of this book, has praised His own book, describing it in such a way that He stated the Quran is both a confirmation of the previous scriptures of the Torah, Gospel, and earlier scrolls, and it also holds authority over them; meaning all heavenly books are true; however, the endorsement that is at the end of all heavenly books is the endorsement of the Holy Quran:

﴿مصدقا لما بين يديه من الکتاب و مهيمنا عليه;

“authenticating what is present of the Scripture and superseding it”. [1]

the authority, dominance, sovereignty, and permanence belong to the Holy Quran.

If the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) are the confirmers of the prophets and past leaders (one) and have authority over the prophets and messengers of the past (two), it is because they are the speaking Quran and the moving Quran.

You, the esteemed and honorable individuals who serve the sacred shrines of the Ahl al-Bayt in general, and the blessed being of Ali ibn Abi Talib, Hussain ibn Ali, and Abbass ibn Ali (upon them be the best blessings of those who bless) in particular, must possess intellectual authority and a profound understanding, and by you through the heavenly shrines of these divine beings, correct knowledge and righteous deeds may be disseminated throughout the world.

What does the Almighty God say about the Quran, and what does He say about its followers? He, the Exalted and Almighty, said:

 ﴿ص و القرآن ذي الذکر;

"S’ad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition" [2]

 meaning "there is no invocation (dhikr) except He, no one is remembered except He, no one is a rememberer except He, there is no permanence except for He, as the intended meaning of dhikr (invocation) is not merely verbal remembrance." We say so-and-so is renowned, so-and-so is celebrated, so-and-so is eternal; the Quran is celebrated, the Quran is illustrious; the Holy Divine Essence swore by 'waw' with an oath: 'By this enduring Book.

This book has not been revealed solely for the education of ordinary matters (one), the training of ordinary individuals (two), and the organization of personal and social affairs (three). The fact that you see Ali and his descendants are everlasting is not just for ordinary social and cultural issues.

"God, the Exalted, said in Surah 'S’ad' after beginning that chapter with an oath, saying:

﴿ص و القرآن ذي الذکر،

 S’ad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition, then

'Absolute Peace originates from Him and ascends to Him' said: ﴿

﴿واذکر عبادنا  ابراهيم و اسحق و يعقوب اولی الأيدي و الأبصار *  إنا اخلصناهم بخالصة ذکری الدار * إنهم عندنا لمن المصطفين الأخيار.

“And remember Our servants, Ibrahim, Isaac, and Jacob, those who possessed hands (strength, might) and vision (insight)* Indeed, We have chosen them for an exclusive remembrance of the abode * Indeed, they are among the chosen and the best”.

"God, the Exalted, said to His Messenger, 'Remember these individuals'; why? Because they have hearing, because they have vision, because they have hands. What does it mean? He said: And remember Our servants”; why? Indeed, We have chosen them, why? Those who possessed strength and vision; because they have vision, because they have hands (might). What is meant by hands and vision? The hand that is not dominant in scientific, interpretative, and investigative matters, and the eye that does not see the divine signs, is not a hand and an eye for which the Prophet can be proud of. God, the Exalted, said that Ibrahim has a hand, Ibrahim has vision, because he breaks and demolishes idols. The hand that does not destroy the idol and the false god is not a hand. And remember Our servants, Ibrahim, Isaac, and Jacob; why? Because they are Those of strength and vision. The one who cuts the idol, destroys the false god, and eliminates polytheism and disbelief, has indeed a hand. The one who does not possess these qualities has no hand, no permanence, and no remembrance. Each of us wishes to have a hand, either through scientific research and writing or through righteous deeds. Those who strive in the way of God among the masses, those who fought in the way of God in the war against Saddam, those who struggled in the way of God in various efforts until ended to the moon of the Hashemite family (peace be upon them all), these are the ones of strength. Abbasss ibn Ali owns hand (strength), as well as Isaaq, Ibrahim. Whoever does these things has a hand and hearing; like Abbass, like Hussein ibn Ali, like Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon them all). Has it now become clear whose court we are in?!

The reason you see us kissing the door and walls of the shrine is for this very reason; the reason we bow so much in their presence is for this reason!

He who has sacrificed his hand and has no hand, the Quran states he has a hand, and we who have hands, have no hands! To whom does the Quran say he has a hand? Does it say it to me or to Abbass ibn Ali (peace be upon him)? Thus, our humility, our reverence, our expression of loyalty are in their presence; they have hands, we do not have hands, they have vision, but we do not. If a blind person wants to enter the shrine, it is only because he is in need of one who possesses vision, and if a person with severed hands wants to enter the shrine, it is only because he needs the one who owns hands (strength and power).

The Holy Quran mentions some of the great prophets of the past, behind the noble existence of Ibrahim, and the Divine Essence has given us an identity, saying you are honored, you are descendants of Ibrahim, thus, you should have hands; neither let the stranger to get in nor violate anyone's privacy. Why do you not have hands? Why have you let the stranger (disbelievers) in? Why do you love the stranger? It is said: "The faith of your father" — you are noble, you are the descendants of Ibrahim. The Quran explicitly states that you are descendants of Ibrahim, the sons of Ibrahim:

﴿ملة أبيکم ابراهيم هو سماکم المسلمين من قبل.

 "The faith of your father Ibrahim; He named you Muslims aforetime." [4] Why do you not look at your identity? Why do you not value yourselves? You are the descendants of the friend of God, you are of Ibrahim; you are engaged in conflict with fire, you are engaged in conflict with the disbelievers, you are engaged in conflict with everything that is bad.

If you see us when we reach this holy shrine, we kiss the door and the walls, because these words are stated by them. Where do you hear these words? Where do you hear these messages? When we arrive here, we show humility, wholeheartedly kissing the door and the walls!

The Islamic community, in the broadest sense, in the East and West, the Far East and Near East, the Far West and Near West, are the children of Ibrahim Khalil and must think like Ibrahim and act like Khalil! They should not ignite a fire (one), and they should extinguish the fire that has already been lit (two); they should not engage in idol worship (one), and they should pin the idolaters in their rightful place (two). If you see a person showing such humility in the presence of the Ahl al-Bayt, it is because they are the living Quran, and they have proven these words through their actions; the Quran expressed it through words and phrases, while Ali and the descendants of Ali proved it with their souls, their blood, their speech and writings.

In conclusion, while expressing appreciation and gratitude to the esteemed and precious officials of holy Shrine of Al-Abbass, and to all of you, the esteemed scholars, intellectuals, and students, let me mention the last sacrifice of Qamar Bani Hashim and bid you farewell.

The Euphrates is a river that flows in the northeast of Karbala, and the water of the Euphrates is not just little flowing river that everyone could take water from every part of it. A small section with a gentle slope is called Shari'a; Shari'a means a place with a gentle slope (one), not steep and sharp (two), and it is possible to access it (three); this place is referred to as Shari'a. Many Umayyads guarded this section of the Shari'a to prevent anyone from taking water, and that sacred being who was able to overcome all these dangers in the narrowest, darkest, and weakest of situations and enter the Shari'a was Abbass ibn Ali. We have all heard that the blessed Abbass ibn Ali placed his hands under the water; well, he is thirsty, and if he had drunk a little water, it wouldn’t have been bad. Who was there to understand why Abbass ibn Ali poured the water onto the water instead of drinking it, leaving thirsty and returning thirsty? “He remembered the thirst of Hussein”[5]; then who was there [to witness and narrate it]? Did anyone narrate it? Abbass ibn Ali was himself martyred later! [then who narrated it?] It was the blessed Imam (peace be upon him), who is aware of the unseen by God's permission, who later said that at the moment when Abbass took the water, he said, "My brother is thirsty," and at that moment, due to "the remembering of the thirst of Hussain," he poured the water onto the water. Such is Abbass!

Seeking intercession through these figures has an effect, seeking blessings from them has an effect, and asking from them has an effect; they are channels of the unseen, though all of them are servants of God.

The point is that we are approaching a court where both the heavens and the angels are humble. You are "blessed and fortunate"! You are great ones who serve these holy shrines; "blessed are you and fortunate"! We hope that the exalted essence of God makes the Islamic community more awake in the East and West, in Asia and Europe, and in other continents! May He make the Quran and the Ahlul-Bayt flourish in their hearts! May He crush and disgrace global arrogance! May He make Islamic countries victorious and prosperous! So that the Islamic community may await the appearance of the true Savior, and may the promised Mahdi (peace be upon him) appear, and we may be kissing the holy court of that sacred being!

"May God forgive us and you, and peace be upon you, and God's mercy and blessings."
