He stated: ‘You have been in the presence of the Holy Quran for 40 years and have made great effort. This work of yours is an honor for the Shia.’

He (Grand Ayatullah Sistani) stated: The foundation and axis is the Holy Quran. The narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) must be presented to the Quran, and only if they are in agreement with the Quran are they citable and actionable.

His Eminence emphasized: Our view towards the Qom Seminary is no different from our view towards the Najaf Seminary. To the best of our ability, we will do whatever is possible for the seminaries.

He also expressed his delight at this meeting and, addressing Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, stating: We have heard much about your attributes and your scholarly works, but hearing is never like seeing!

You are like a compassionate and kind father to the Shia and the people of Iraq. May your benevolent presence last long, God willing.'

He added, referring to the prominent role of the religious authority in Iraq: The Najaf Seminary, both directly and indirectly, has been and continues to be a source of abundant blessings for the Islamic world. Your role in preserving the social order and confronting Takfiri groups such as ISIS is historic and enduring.
